Meet Our Fellow — Maryam Awesu
Welcome to Meet Our Fellow & Ambassadors — a series that highlights the women who represent WeTech by promoting initiatives that foster the growth of women in technology within their universities.
Meet Maryam, a third-year Law Student at the University of Lagos, passionate about Law and Technology.
Tell us about your journey
I have been learning Frontend Website Development for about a year and a half. I have attended several Bootcamps, attended webinars, joined study groups just to remain on the Tech path. I have conducted webinars at a Tech law student club of my faculty and I was appointed to be the Tech/ Creative Lead of the club. The Tech law experience which I tagged “Law-Dev”) has been challenging and surreal.
What are you currently working on?
I am working on completing my Web Development course recommended by my mentor. I am also a co-host of a Tech podcast, Gen-Tech podcast, where I aim to invite guests from and outside the tech space to discuss pertinent issues that relate to everyone. You can check it out here — https://anchor.fm/gen-tech.
Share something you are looking forward to
I hope to be a Software Engineer that contributes to the improvement of the ecosystem and the progression of the world.
