Now let’s take a step back and do a quick recap. We hope you enjoy reading this as much as we enjoyed putting it together just for you! 💙 Shall we?
Do you recall our first online meet-up of the year? It was a remarkable event focused on sharing our dreams and plans for 2024, with the guidance of our inspiring Founders, Flora and Gabriella. We explored various topics, from new community programs and job opportunities to exciting upcoming networking events. And to top it all off, we celebrated a milestone achievement of winning a monetary grant from the Autodesk Foundation. Flora’s message about the essence of being part of a community that genuinely cares resonated deeply with all of us. It’s a reminder of the strength we draw from one another and the collective impact we can make. Meanwhile, Gabriella’s insights on goal setting were equally enlightening. She emphasized the significance of establishing clear, achievable objectives and tackling them one step at a time, offering a roadmap for success for code and no-code tech.

As March rolled in, we ushered in with a great sense of inspiration and gratitude for the amazing accomplishments of women throughout history. In celebration of Women’s History Month, we launched our “Inspire Inclusion” video campaign, which showcased the stories of some truly remarkable women from our community and the wider tech space. These women embody the spirit of innovation, resilience, and determination that have made them trailblazers in their respective fields. Their stories are truly motivational and offer a glimpse into the incredible journeys that led them to where they are today. If you haven’t already, we highly recommend checking out the video campaign on our YouTube channel linked below to get inspired by their remarkable achievements.
As part of Women’s History Month, we also participated in an incredible hands-on workshop at the Microsoft Africa Development Center, where our engaged community of women explored the vast potential of AI-powered technology and innovation. This workshop offered an in-depth look at AI concepts, tools, and applications, proving to be an enriching learning opportunity for everyone involved.
Then there is our latest in-person event, “Catalyzing Innovation Through Collaboration and Inclusivity,” which was a remarkable success. With the support of our partners at AltSchool Africa, NexaScale, and the Autodesk Foundation, we gathered a diverse group of women who exchanged their innovative thoughts and stories. The event provided a platform for collaborative discussions and learning opportunities, paving the way for future advancements in technology and inclusivity. Witnessing so many women exchanging and learning from each other’s experiences was truly inspiring.
Last Saturday marked the end of the quarter with a Legal Clinic session that was truly inspiring. Ifeoluwa Adepoju, the Head of Legal at Future Africa, alongside our Co-Founder, Gabriella Uwadiegwu, imparted essential legal knowledge specific to the tech industry. The session was enlightening, providing us with numerous valuable insights that will undoubtedly influence our journey ahead.
Honestly, it’s been an incredible journey — filled with workshops, in-depth conversations, legal enlightenment, and so much more. This period has been all about growth, education, and fostering our community. And guess what? We’re just getting warmed up. There’s plenty more on the horizon for the upcoming months.
So, how about it? Are you ready to dive into what’s next with us? Let’s make the remainder of 2024 unforgettable, together 💙
